What to see?

The must-sees in Malaga that you can’t miss are:

-The Roman Theater and the Alcazaba. Malaga is a city with more than 2,000 years of history, and the best way to get to know it is by visiting two of its oldest monuments. They are undoubtedly two of the main attractions to see in Malaga. You should not miss two absolute gems to learn more about its history. So do not hesitate to buy your ticket and enjoy these fantastic monuments.

-Larios Street. It is one of the nerve centers of the city. So vital that it is the fifth most expensive shopping street in Spain. Thanks to the beautiful architecture, its buildings are one of the most elegant streets in the country. An ideal street to stroll, enjoy the architecture, and shop in some of its stores.

-The Cathedral of Malaga. Known as La Manquita because the construction of one of its two towers was never finished, giving rise to its characteristic appearance. It is another of the most critical and essential monuments to see in Malaga. In it, two styles are mixed, Gothic and Renaissance, giving rise to one of the masterpieces of the Renaissance in Andalusia.

-Malagueta Beach. Here you can enjoy a great day at the beach and cool off with a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Thanks to its excellent location, it is one of Malaga’s best-known and most frequented beaches. In addition, it has all the necessary services to be an ideal beach where you can spend a day with family or friends.

What to do?

-Visit its multitude of museums. The three most advisable to visit are the Picasso Museum, the Automobile Museum, and the Carmen Thyssen Museum. If you like contemporary art, you may also be interested in the CAC.

-Climbing the Gibralfaro Castle in Malaga. Its origins date back to Phoenician times. This castle forms a fortified complex together with the Alcazaba. From the top of Gibralfaro Castle, you have excellent panoramic views of the city of Malaga.

-Pier One and the Farola. Located in the heart of the Port of Malaga, the Muelle Uno is one of the most lively places in the city. A place where you will find many stores, restaurants, and a great cultural offer with exhibitions, history, music, and experiences. At its end, you will find the Farola; it is the lighthouse located. One of the best times to visit it is at sunset when you can see how its lens is gradually illuminated.

-Enjoy the gastronomy of Malaga. Gastronomically speaking, there is nothing more typical in Malaga than the espetos de sardinas. Pedregalejo beach is the ideal place to enjoy the most famous dish of Malaga’s gastronomy.

Nearby to explore

Having the city of Malaga as a base, you can also sign up for excursions in the surrounding area. So, for example, you can visit the famous Caminito del Rey, visit the beautiful Ronda, Setenil, or Frigiliana villages, or visit the Nerja Caves.

Also, from Malaga, you can make excursions with a guide in Spanish to see the Alhambra in Granada. Visit Cordoba or Seville, or even go shopping in Gibraltar.
